Family Programs

Our Strengthening Families program is a nationally and internationally recognized parenting and family strengthening program for Bay Area high-risk and otherwise healthy families who seek extra support.

Our Strengthening Families program is an evidence-based family skills training, which is found to significantly reduce problem behaviors, delinquency, and alcohol and drug issue for children and to help improve their social competencies and school performance. Parents strengthen bonds with their children and learn more effective parenting skills, such as self-regulation, communication and boundary setting techniques.

This program is fully underwritten, which allows us to offer the course to participating families at no out-of-pockets costs to them. Every session during the 14-week program includes a shared family meal.

Our Strengthening Families program in offered in English and in Spanish throughout the year – both on site at our offices and at locations within the community.

This 14 week program offers new skills which parents/caregivers are then able to practice between sessions at home and report back each week. In addition to the research supporting the effectiveness of this program, we have received positive feedback from the families participating in the program — that this program was worthwhile, helpful and a positive experience.
